Emily Thompson
I joined Compton Care in January 2022 and have loved every minute! In my role, I can combine my love for event organisation and meeting community fundraisers who go over and above to raise vital funds. I love meeting our fundraisers whether that’s by attending one of their events or sharing stories while hiking Snowdon in the middle of the night. Every day is different at Compton Care and that’s what I love. Meeting and getting to know our community supporters, and helping them to achieve their fundraising goals big or small is just a privilege. One of my favourite moments has been reaching the top of Snowdon to see the sunrise with a group of supporters.

I have been part of the Fundraising Team at Compton for over 20 years and in that time, I have helped many people bring their fundraising ideas to life. It’s a great privilege to be part of their story. I enjoy sharing my knowledge about Compton and attending our supporter's events. Every supporter, every event and every day is different. I have lots of special moments that will stay with me always and they inspire me every day, but one of my favourites is crossing the Sahara Desert back in 2005 with a group of fundraisers who all had very personal reasons for taking part in the challenge. That’s probably when I realised what Compton means to our supporters.

I joined Compton in January 2023, it is a charity that is extremely close to my heart and my role fills me with utter pride! I work on a number of both intimate and mass participation events, as well as being lucky enough to build relationships with all our wonderful supporters who are dedicated to fundraising for Compton, through hosting their own events, and taking on some huge personal challenges! My role as a Community & Events fundraiser is so varied, my favourite part of my job is that I can really delve into our community and meet so many incredible people, whilst delivering captivating events that raise vital funds for Compton.
