Verification of Expected Adult Death (VOED)

This 2 hour session offers an overview of the current legal framework governing verification of expected death, differences between verification and certification, practical procedures and safe practice, informed by local and national VOED guidance.
What will I learn from this course?
- The definition, process and procedure of verification of death and certification of death and healthcare professionals’ responsibilities
- The need for responsive VEOD
- The requirements for verification of a person’s death including documentation, escalation and next steps.
- Care after death.
This session will support attendees to practice VOED in their place of work. The session will be delivered at Compton Care and competence will be assessed in the classroom.
Please note a certificate of attendance will be issued but we are unable to assess competence in practice.
