Walk for Compton 2025
Compton Hall, 4 Compton Road West, Compton, WV3 9DH14th September 2025
On Sunday 14 September, we invite you to gather in remembrance and Walk for Compton.
Walk for Compton is more than just a walk, it’s a time to remember and celebrate your loved ones, while raising funds to provide vital care and support to local people living with life limiting conditions. Every step you take makes a meaningful difference.
Walk for Compton is open to all and everyone is welcome – not just those with a connection to Compton Care.

Starting at 11am in the beautiful grounds of Compton Hall, the 4.5km route takes in the Smestow Valley Railway Walk to Wightwick Lock. It then ambles back along the Staffordshire and Worcestershire canal to return to Compton Hall where you will have the chance to pause in our Garden of Reflection for a peaceful moment of remembrance.
You can nominate a song for the memory playlist that will be played during the event. This could be a favourite song of your loved one or one that brings back special memories for you. After the event, you will receive a link to access the playlist.
Crumbles Coffee House will be open for you to purchase refreshments, our Nearly New store will be open too.
Dogs are welcome – we just ask that they are always kept on a lead and that you clean up after them.
Early Bird tickets for Walk for Compton are £10 per person or £40 for a group ticket for up to six people (two adults and up to four under 18s). All participants must be registered.
Your registration pack will include:
- A walker number
- A ‘Walking In Memory’ back sign for you decorate if you wish and wear with pride
- A Memory Tag for each participant and you are welcome to place these in the Garden of Reflection at Compton Hall either before or after the walk.
All registered participants who complete the walk will receive a certificate.
Your registration fee covers only the costs associated with putting on this event and we ask all participants to raise a minimum of £50 in sponsorship so that we can continue to provide vital care and support to local people and families living with life limiting conditions.
Your donation of £50 could pay for a one-to-one counselling session to help a patient to come to terms with their diagnosis or a family member to cope with the loss of a loved one.

The Route
The 4.5km route takes in the Smestow Valley Railway Walk, canal towpaths and roads/pavements at the beginning and end of the walk. It is fully marshalled and signposted. Please take care on all aspects of the route particularly with small children and dogs. All members of the public have access to the route.
Parking
Due to the limited availability of parking at Compton Hall, we encourage you to walk to the event where possible.
On site parking will be available for blue badge holders only, and marshals will be at the entrance of Compton Hall to assist with this. Please car share where possible. Several buses from Wolverhampton bus station stop immediately outside Compton Hall.
If you do need to travel by car, our friends at the nearby Oddfellows and Westacres have kindly agreed that participants can use their car park if needed.
