Join us on Saturday 17 October for the Compton Care Sunset Stroll – a magical evening where we walk together to celebrate life, love and community in the beautiful setting of Weston Park.
Hosted by celebrated DJ Niel Jackson, the Sunset Stroll has two distances to choose from:
- 5km route – a gentle, scenic stroll through gardens and woodland (starts at 5pm)
- 10km route – an extended loop for those who want to go a little further (starts at 4pm)
After your walk you can relax, refuel and continue the evening in our event village where there will be music, stalls, delicious food and a licensed bar.
Whether you’re walking in memory of someone special or simply enjoying a magical autumn evening with family and friends, Sunset Stroll offers a chance to reflect, connect and make memories – all while raising vital funds for local people who need our care and support.
We’d love you to join us for this memorable evening, tickets are:
- £10 per adult or £18 with a commemorative Sunset Stroll T-shirt
- £5 per child (under 16) or £13 with a commemorative Sunset Stroll T-shirt.
- Under 4s are free.
All participants must be registered and each walker will receive:
- A commemorative Compton Care Sunset Stroll medal
- A walker number
- A ‘Walking In Memory’ back sign for you decorate if you wish and wear with pride
- A glow stick to help you light up the night.
Our Sunset Stroll is open to all – everyone is welcome to be part of this special evening, whether or not you have a connection to Compton Care.
Dogs are welcome – we just ask that they are always kept on a lead and that you clean up after them.
The Compton Care Sunset Stroll is more than just a walk, it’s a chance to make a difference, where every step helps to raise vital funds which contribute to the specialist care we provide to local people when they need us most.
Your event registration fee covers the cost of the event, it’s your fundraising that makes a real difference. We would ask all participants to raise a suggested minimum £50.

After your walk you can relax, refuel and continue the evening with friends and family and enjoy:
- Music, games and entertainment
- Licenced bar
- Delicious street food
- Our ‘Shop at The Hall’ stall
- And much more!
For those quieter moments, our specialist Bereavement and Counselling team will be available if you’d like any support.
The route
The route is fully marshalled and signposted. The 10km walk is a double loop of the 5km route for those who want to walk further and a water station will be provided on route.
The route encompasses woodland trail, muddy trackways and forested areas. You are advised to wear sensible footwear and to be aware of recent weather conditions which may make the route wet and muddy.
Particular care should be taken with small children. Children under 16 must be accompanied by an adult all times.
Parking
There is free parking on site at Weston Park, please follow the signs to the car park.
Disabled parking will be located at the front of the main parking area, our friendly marshals will be on hand to assist if needed.
Do you love meeting people and making a difference? We’re looking for friendly and enthusiastic volunteers who can help to make our Sunset Stroll memorable for our supporters.
If you’re reliable, punctual, have good communication skills, work well as part of a team, and would be comfortable being outdoors in the beautiful Weston Park, we’d love to hear from you!
You’ll be at the heart of the event, helping everything run smoothly and creating a memorable experience for everyone taking part. Your role could include:
- Welcoming our walkers at registration
- Marshalling along the route
- Awarding medals at the finish line
- Helping with any queries
- Supporting with event set-up and take-down
No experience is needed, just your enthusiasm, a friendly approach and a willingness to get involved. We’ll provide all the guidance and support you need before the event.
